Travis Kelce almost added $100,000 to his bank account at the Kentucky Derby. However, Taylor Swift ‘s boyfriend’s Japanese horse missed out on taking first place by mere centimeters.
On May 4, the Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro tight end attended the grand event at Churchill Downs in Kentucky. The 34-year-old caught the eye of many with his white pinstripe suit, navy-blue fedora hat, and matching tie— shades of Taylor Swift‘s Grammy outfit.
Everyone expected Swift to show up because Kelce was there, but the ‘So High School’ singer was no show. She was busy preparing to kick off the European leg of the Eras Tour in Paris, France.
Kelce did not mention much about Swift’s appearance on the recent episode of the ‘New Heights‘ podcast, but he touched upon losing $100,000 in the horse race.

I almost fu**ing won $100,000 off a Japanese horse in the Kentucky Derby. Do you [Jason Kelce] think America would have shamed me for that? Travis Kelce said
I'm shaming you right now, dude. [How could] you bet on a Japanese horse? To which his brother and retired NFL center, Jason Kelce replied
Losing $100,000 is a mere chump change for Travis. The Chiefs recently gave him a two-year, $34.25 million extension, making him the highest-paid in his position.

The race was close until the final seconds. It became difficult for the judge to announce which horse had won, and they had to use the help of technology to decide the victor. Unfortunately, Kelce’s horse wasn’t the one the officials picked.
I just wanted to fu**ing put the money that I brought in there and throw it down on like one horse and just get fu**ing pumped if that thing was even close. Sure enough, coming around that corner, you see that thing. Come up. On the podcast, the three-time Super Bowl winner revealed
Despite the disappointing outcome, Kelce enjoyed the ‘once in a lifetime’ experience very much.
It was really easy and really fun for us to come out there and enjoy the Derby. I am definitely going to try and experience it again, man, because it was fun just being a part of the entire environment. Kelce told WLKY at the Kentucky Derby
Kelce hung around with several notable faces. From Smokey Robinson, Jack Harlow, and Jimmy Fallon , who was carrying around his puppy.
